  • Booking confirmation requires payment of the first night (plus the full amount for peak nights - 30 days prior)
  • Payment is by Visa/Mastercard by phone. A receipt and confirmation will be sent to you by mail.
  • Balance of payment is due on arrival.
  • We endeavour to refund money paid for cancelled bookings. However, if we cannot find a replacement booking due to short notice, you will forgo your payment. If there is a likelihood of cancellation please discuss with John.


  • Usual spread of opening hours:
    8am to 8pm, but allow for our cleaning and shopping.
    Friday Night till 9pm for pre-booked arrivals.

From the main street of Margaret River, drive 2km south on the Bussell Highway, turn left into Rosa Brook Road, then 1.6km to the entrance of Marri Lodge on the left.

John Cooper

John Cooper and his partner Lynne live on the premises.

He offers comfortable, well maintained self-catering cottages and motel style rooms in a tranquil rural setting very close to town.

John prefers natural timber furniture rather than floppy lounges and melamine.

He says he aims to offer value for money accommodation for travellers on a budget and comparable with Travel Guide recommendations by Jetlag, Reise Know-How, and Lonely Planet.

Things to do in Margaret River

  • Centrally located for visiting the Margaret River Region with its famous wineries, Brown Hill, Leeuwin, Voyager, Xanadu and Watershed, majestic limestone caves of Jewel and Lake Caves, surfing beaches, and Karri forests. Also Wine Tour operators do pick up from Marri Lodge.
  • Supermarkets, banks, boutiques, takeaways and restaurants are 4 minutes by car to the main street of Margaret River.
  • At Augusta, 30 minutes drive south is whale and dolphin watching and the tallest lighthouse on mainland Australia. Also stingrays at Hamelyn Bay
  • Stella Bella vineyard is next door and Yahava Koffee at the turn-off to town.
  • Forest and river walk/bike trails at Ten Mile Brook Dam picnic site, and Darch Walk Trail on the western boundary of Marri Lodge.
  • Visit pristine Redgate Beach with waves breaking over granite rocks. Also the mouth of Margaret River, Gnarabup swimming beach and surfers point at Prevelly.
